Village atmosphere
Tatajuba is an authentic and very peaceful fishing village located between Guriú and Camocim. The vibe is decidedly relaxed, with a slow and tranquil pace of life. The village remains largely untouched by tourism, offering a genuine immersion into the local culture. Surrounded by sand dunes and mangroves, Tatajuba boasts a spectacular natural setting. The lack of large tourist infrastructure makes it an ideal spot for those seeking to disconnect, enjoy nature, and immerse themselves in a preserved environment.
Water conditions
Tatajuba’s kitesurfing spot offers a variety of conditions. Close to the shore, there are flat-to-choppy water areas, perfect for freeriding and beginners. Further out, small waves form, providing ideal conditions for strapless wave riding. Tatajuba is also known for its flat-water lagoon that appears at high tide, creating an excellent playground for freestyle. Additionally, the natural beauty of the surroundings makes every session unforgettable.
Wind strength
As with most spots in Brazil’s Nordeste region, the wind in Tatajuba is very strong and consistent, particularly during the windy season (July to January). Winds blow between 20 and 30 knots, with a side-onshore direction, ensuring safe sessions. Kitesurfers typically use small kites, perfect for dynamic rides. Tatajuba is also a great starting point for downwind trips toward Maceio or other spots along the coast.
